Angular Panel
Portion of overcap lid between center panel and top panel.

Bottom Radius
Radius between a container sidewall and bottom

Cepter Panel
Portion of overcap lid that is normally printed or labeled.

Channel Width
Gap in recess lid between skirt wall and plug fit. Space where container lip engages with recess lid.

Compression Ring
A formed raised ring that helps to prevent crimping of an inside fit lid as it is being seated.

Flange
Horizontal protrusion extending from bottom of lid skirt.

Inside Fit Dimension
Distance across lid where container lip contacts lid when engaged.

Lid Seat Dimension
Distance across container inside dimension where inside fit lid will seat.

Lip
Portion at top of container that fits into lid.

Lip Height
Distance from top to bottom of lid.

Lip/Rim Inside Dimension (I.D.)
Distance across the top of a container to the inside of the lip.

Lip/Rim Outside Dimension (O.D.)
Distance across the top of container to the outside of the lip.

Lip Roll Dimension (O.D.)
Distance across the top edge of the container at the rolled lip.

Lip Thickness
Thickness of the top portion of lip.

Lip Width
Distance across lip.

Nest or Stack Height
Distance from top of container to top of adjacent container when nested together.

Nest or Stack Height Wall
Portion of container from nest ledge to lip.

Nest or Stack Ledge
Portion of container that rest on lip of adjacent container when nested together.

Nest or Stack Ledge Outside Dimension (O.D.)
Distance across container at outside nest or stack ledge.

Nest or Stack Ledge Width
Distance across nest ledge from top of sidewall to outside of nest ledge.

Nest or Stack Wall Thickness
Wall thickness of nest height wall.

Overall Height
Height of lid from lowest projection to topmost projection.

Outside Dimension (Lid)
Distance across outside edge of lid.

Plug Fit Dimension
Distance across recessed lid inside the channel where the inside of a container lip will be in contact when engaged.

Recess Depth
Distance from top of recess lid to the recess panel.

Recess Top Dimension (Panel Diameter)
Distance across recess of lid.

Sealing Bead
Ridge or protrusion provided on top of container lip to aid in heat sealing.

Seat Fit Dimension
The distance across the plug fit of an inside fit lid or the distance across the inside of the groove of an overcap lid.

Sidewall
Portion of a container that is normally printed or labeled.

Sidewall or Draft Angle
Angle between the vertical and taper of container.

Sidewall Height
Distance from bottom of container to nest ledge.

Sidewall Top Outside Dimension (Shoulder Diameter)
Distance across container at intersection of sidewall and nest ledge.

Skirt
The side of the container lid.

Skirt Height
Distance from bottom to the top of the skirt.

Skirt Wall
The panel that makes up the skirt.

Speed Ring
Continuous or uninterrupted ring on bottom of container.

Stack Ring
Ring around top panel of lid which aids in lids fitting together into a stack.

Stack Ring Dimension
Distance across lid to outer edge of stack ring.

Stack Ring Height
Distance from top panel to top of stack ring.

Toe in Angle
The angle between vertical and the lid skirt.

Top Panel
Top portion of lid directly connected to the skirt.

Undercut (container)
Ring inside container on nest wall. (There can be different kinds of undercuts at different locations on the container)

Undercut (lid)
Portion of lid that protrudes from inside of skirt wall that extends under the container lip to hold the lid in place.

Undercut Gap
Distance from under the top panel to the top of the undercut.

Undercut Dimension
Distance between the inside of the undercut at the maximum diameter of the lid.
